Even though our two days of sharathon have come and gone we are still hoping to hear from you with an encouraging financial gift. As of Friday, December 28th the total amount pledged is $169,044. We are about 60% of the way towards our goal. Praise The Lord!
It’s no secret that it is very expensive to run a radio station today. Our annual cost of operation is $420,000. We receive approximately $70,000 in support from area businesses and churches (Vision Partners) which in return receive “recognition announcements”. In addition we receive approximately $70,000 from paid programs. For example some ministries pay us a fee for their 15 minute or half hour program. Other ministries may give us a “share” of their proceeds from donations received from our listening area. That leaves us with a need for at least $280,000.00 in donations from our listeners.
In 2006, our lease payments for the broadcast tower sites increased considerably. Salaries for our staff have also risen to keep up with the cost of living. We also had to upgrade a few critical computers this year. However, donations have not matched our cost of operation. It is difficult to imagine how we can “cut” any more from the budget without harming the overall sound of the radio station. We have a very small but dedicated staff who understand that we have a huge challenge to undertake here in the Northeast. I have heard it said that New England and New York are a “tough row to hoe”. That is true but I believe there are many faithful Christians who believe in Christian radio and are willing to help in any way they can to keep Christian radio strong in the Northeast. Would you please consider helping us at this time? The Lord is faithful and has taken care of us for many years. We trust that He will continue to do that through the generosity of faithful listeners like yourself. This years theme for sharathon is “Changing Lives”. Please help us to broadcast the Good News of Jesus Christ through teaching programs and solid Christian music and together we will be partners in seeing lives change.
In His grip,
Ric McClary
