Studio ‘G’

This is one of my favorites.  That is CGMA Artist of the Decade, Don Richmond with me.  The picture was taken in August 2001 when I had Don up here for a weekend of concerts.  Folks can learn more about Don at his web site:     www.donnyrichmond.com

Herb Glynn has been a part of CMI/The Light Radio Network for quite a few years. His Gospel Country program is heard on Saturday afternoons at 5:00PM and has a faithful following. One of the nice things about Herb is his honesty and his sincerity. What you hear is what you get with Herb. He loves The Lord, he is in love with his wife Nancy and he has a heart for not only the lost but for the Church as well.

A  MIRACLE  ON  GREEN  VALLEY  ROAD

Herb & Nancy Glynn

November 28, 2009

Saturday morning, November 28, 2009, a huge hemlock came down right across the middle of our mobile home during the high winds.  We are both unscathed, which is a miracle in itself.

The tree came right down where I had been sitting in my chair.  Just a minute or two before I had got up to use the bathroom down the hall.  Miss Nancy was sitting on the sofa right next to the front door.  The tree came down just the other side of that door.  (about three feet from her head)

It landed at the precise spot that I had supported the ceiling 25 years ago.  The fire chief and the insurance adjuster both said that if that extra support had not been there the tree would have probably cut the home right in half and gone all the way to the ground.  Had that been the case, Miss Nancy would probably be with the Lord right now.

Our daughter and son-in-law own a much larger and newer mobile home right across the yard, and that is our new home.  It had been pretty much empty for the last two years.  They were waiting for the right tenants to come along and were in no hurry to rent it to just anybody.  They are thrilled that we are now in it.  After all, we have had a 27 year audition as tenants.  I guess we passed the test.

The insurance will cover everything with a little left over.  Our losses, besides the home which has been determined as a total loss, are really not serious.  Lots of stuff, but most of it is just that, stuff.  We did not lose any clothes or food.  None of the puppets that have been a key part of our ministry over the years suffered any damage.  Our key guy, “Dusty” was sitting right under where the tree landed.  Even as the window right behind him shattered, Dusty escaped without even any glass or ‘shrapnel’ on him at all.  Now, to the world that doesn’t make a lick of sense.  Talk about a “Hedge of Angels!”  WOW!!!  Well, over the years we have seen the Lord use this little bear in miraculous ways to minister to HIS people, especially in our nursing home ministries.

Next to the chair where I usually sit there is a book case where I have several Bibles and a load of SS material that I have written over the years for The “Catfish Class” that I teach on Sunday mornings.  This book case is right where the tree came down along with the water from the rain that was on the roof.  There was not a single drop of water stain or any damage whatsoever to any of these items! Another book case behind the chair contained several more Bible study materials like concordances, an interlinear Bible, Matthew Henry Commentary, the Herbert Lockyer “All Series,” and several others.  The bookcase was severely damaged but none of the books suffered any damage.

Like I say on Studio “G” so often, “God is God, and HE is in control of all things.  Nothing takes HIM by surprise and nothing sneaks up on HIM.  Nothing can happen unless HE allows it, and that which HE allows is ultimately for the good of HIS children.  So, let go, let GOD, and rejoice evermore!” This event in our lives is living proof that this is so true.

All of my electronics that I use for the production of the radio program were untouched. (I must interject right here that the new Studio “G” will be as large, or maybe even a little larger than Studio “A” up there in Essex Jct.!)

The TV, VCR, etc in the living room escaped without any damage.  The firemen moved all of our food and a lot of our clothes over to the new place for us, along with some of the furniture in the crash area that was not damaged.  Then, on Sunday afternoon, about a dozen men and one woman from the church came over and helped move a lot of stuff for us.

So anyway, this is why the “Praise Report.”  As I write this there is still a lot of physical labor involved to finish getting all of our stuff moved, but there are several willing and able folks right here helping us ‘old folks’ to, as Larry the Cable Guy says, “Git ‘r done!”

We can clearly see the Hand of God in every area of what the world might look at as a tragedy.  HE led me to brace the ceiling 25 years ago, and that literally saved Miss Nancy’s life.  Everywhere we turn, we see the blessings of God, and it is so exciting to see how HE is so in control of this entire situation.  Let’s just say that Christmas came early to our home this year!

We are blessed!
