I am a queen of overdoing it, in many ways to a fault. Working too much and not spending quality time with my family. Listening to my 5 year old, really listening, when she is telling me about her day, or her toys or pretty much anything. Actively pursuing conversations with my 16 year old, and really diving into what is in her heart. Or sitting close with my hubs and watching a car show. I do these things sometimes, but not as often as I would like.
And then there is the time in the Word, where is the time? Where does it go? Why is it so hard to prioritize?
I imagine many of us are in a similar boat, trying to get back to shore, yet struggling. I share this to encourage and not condemn. We have an incredible Father in Heaven who adores his kids! He isn’t waiting to bash us for not reading the Bible in a Year, or memorize 2 new scriptures a week, no way! His Word says he rejoices over us with singing! Always ready for conversation, inviting us to rest in Him.
Maybe the key is to ask HIM to show us how to do this life and just be held.~heather
“The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy”. Zech 3:17 NASB
