Offended, Irritated, Living with Malcontent?
So you know me as a happy, upbeat, joy filled individual. Yet, reality is I struggle just like you with the things that try to destroy. Ego, pride and the enemy are a perfect soup to bring me right to a place that gets me right off track.
Yup, so easy to slip into the slow fade of offense. Sometimes I find myself treading water in this ugly place and MAN does it make me miserable! Then I am miserable to everyone around. Recently as I saw myself slipping into a place of being critical, judgmental and offendable I had to cry out to Jesus. RESCUE ME FROM MYSELF.
These are the things that can rob us of really living! When we live life focused on the negative, it tends to make us miserable! The answer comes to us in the WORD of God (the bible) and spending time in prayer with the Lord! The letter to the Philippians encourage us to focus on the better things:
8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
You pray for me and I’ll pray for you and together, we will see Jesus lifted high in our lives and in our land!~heather
