..That we should be called the Sons of God.
I loved this song so much as a little girl. I was orphaned at age 3 and was raised by my grandmother. She loved God and raised us in church!
For a short time, our family attended a sweet little Missional Baptist church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Delaware Missionary Baptist with Bro. Gary Rose in the early 80’s. I heard Brother Rose (My Pastor) sharing about how we are all sinners, that we do things that displease God and that He Loves us and wants to be part of our lives, then he would always give the alter call.
One Sunday, God was calling my little heart to recognize my sin, need for a Savior and requirement to respond, I walked quickly and nervously up to the alter, told Brother Rose that I wanted Jesus to make my heart clean and that I was a sinner. After a short prayer, Bro. Rose congratulated me on becoming a child of God, I was saved! He then explained that I should be baptized, and suggested we should go to a local pond. I wanted to be baptized, but was terrified that there would be a water moccasin in the pond, because all our ponds had snakes! No thank you! So I was saved, but not yet dunked. Not to fear, within a year we were in a church with a tub. So I did get dunked! (Three separate times, but that story is for another day)
That day was so special because it was like a new life that was opened up to me. From that day on, I was very interested in reading the bible and knowing more about Jesus.
What love the father lavishes upon us that we, you and I, can become children of God!
So what is your story about His Glory?~heather
