Ric grew up in North Dakota and Minnesota. His father was an engineer in the radio and television industry so Ric’s love of broadcasting has early roots.
At 27, after trying his hand at everything from plumbing to sales, Ric decided to pursue his desire for a career in radio. Carrying the responsibilities of a husband and father and a full time job, he attended night school at Brown College in Minneapolis. Ric’s first job in broadcasting was as news director at WCMP radio in Pine City, Minnesota. Since then he’s worked as a talk show host and news anchor in Salt Lake City, Utah, a mid-day personality in Columbus, Ohio (WSNY) and was the morning host and program director for K-I-T in Yakima, Washington for 13 years. Ric was also operations manager for KIT/KATS and KQSN for three years and did consulting work for Ingstad Broadcasting’s full service AM stations in the mid-west. Ric served as general manager of a low power Christian television station (CBY) in Yakima, WA before moving to Vermont. He now serves as general manager for “The Light” Radio Network in Burlington, Vermont.
Ric has been married for 40 years to Darilynn. While working in Talk radio, Ric and Darilynn developed quite a unique husband and wife radio team sharing everything from recipes to political commentary. Darilynn also works at “The Light” Radio Network as office manager and donor support manager.
Ric’s sincerity comes across on the radio, in his commercial production and in his public speaking. His friends and listeners alike will be quick to tell you, when you meet “Ric”, “What you hear is what you get”.
Bob Pierce has been with The Light Radio since the end of 2006. He was host of the “Good Morning Radio Show” for over five years, moving to host the “Light Lunch Hour” in 2012. Bob wears several hats at the studios: he’s also the music director, program manager, has organized five Concerts For The Light and can be seen at numerous events and live appearances throughout the listening area each year. Before coming to the radio station, Bob owned and ran a graphic design and marketing studio in Littleton, New Hampshire and has been in graphics and printing for over thirty years. He still does occasional freelance projects from time to time. His band, The Kingdom Blues Project, plays several concerts of Christian blues and American spirituals each year. Bob has three grown sons, two of which are married and the third is engaged, and one beautiful granddaughter. He lives in Milton, Vermont with his wife, Stephanie, and their ornery conure, Tichka.
Born a “Personality” in New Hampshire, raised in Oklahoma and accepting Jesus as her Lord and savior at age 8, Heather was determined to serve Him!. Heather met her husband Craig while working at Pizza Hut, while still in High School. Heather and her family moved to Vermont, as led by The Lord in 1999, then came on board as Host of “The Heather or Not Show” in 2010 and can now be heard with Ric, on “The Light” during the “Good Morning Show” on Wednesdays and at live remotes with Bob. Also, a multiple hat wearing chick, Heather handles the social media presence for the network as well as underwriting new business support. Heather is conservative yet unconventional…
Heather and Craig have been together 23 years and together, they have four daughters: Brandalia, Emily, Olivia & Scarlett and a grandson, Elias. The family resides in Jeffersonville and serve at United Christian Assembly in Jericho.
